These little bonfire meringues are such a cute Lag Be'omer treat. The pretzel sticks make the “wood,” and the swirled meringue creates the perfect little flames.

Instructions:
Start by piping a small dot of meringue onto a parchment-lined cookie sheet. This will act as the “glue” to hold the pretzels in place. Place two small pretzel sticks over the meringue dot, crossing them over each other in an X shape.

Next, prepare your piping bag. Fit the bag with a nozzle, then use a clean paintbrush to brush strokes of red and yellow food coloring inside the bag. Start from the nozzle and brush upward toward the top of the bag. This will give the meringue a flame-like effect as you pipe.

Spoon the meringue mixture into the bag. For the most realistic look, tint the meringue a bright orange before adding it to the bag. Mine came out more pastel orange, which was still cute, but a deeper orange will make the little flames look even better.
Pipe the meringue over the crossed pretzel sticks, building it upward into a small flame shape. Once baked and dried, you’ll have adorable little edible bonfires.
