Learn how to make these fun fidget toys with our step-by-step instructions below!

What You'll Need:

  • Free Printable Tu B'Shvat Fruit Squishy Template
  • Color pencils or crayons
  • Clear packing tape
  • Polyester fiber stuffing OR balled up tissues
  • Scissors

Step 1: Print and Color Your Fruit

Print out your chosen Tu B'Shvat fruit template. Use your preferred coloring supplies to color your template.

Once colored, carefully cut around the fruit shape, staying close to the outline so no white edges show.

Step 2: Apply Tape to the Front

Cut a strip of packing tape that extends at least 4 inches beyond the width of your fruit cutout.

Position the tape across the top of your fruit, allowing it to hang over both the top edge and the sides. Firmly press down the tape, smoothing out any bubbles or wrinkles. A ruler can help get it nice and flat.

Add another strip of tape directly beneath the first one, placing it as close as possible without the pieces touching.

Continue adding horizontal strips of tape down the front of your squishy, stopping before you reach the bottom edge. Leave the bottom completely uncovered - this is important!

Step 3: Trim and Prepare the Tape

Carefully peel your taped template off your work surface.

Trim away the extra tape around the sides, following the fruit's shape but leaving about an inch of overhang on each side.

Wherever your fruit has curves, snip small cuts into the overhanging tape, creating sections that are roughly 1/2 to 1 inch wide. This will help the tape fold smoothly around the shape.

Step 4: Connect Front and Back

Turn your template over so the sticky tape is facing upward.

Position the back piece on top, making sure both colored sides are facing out (the blank white sides should be touching in the middle).

Take your time aligning the edges perfectly before the paper touches the sticky tape.

Holding the back piece steady, fold the tape tabs over onto the back, sealing the two pieces together all the way around. Remember to keep the bottom open!

Now tape over the entire back side using shorter pieces that just cover the paper. Try to minimize overlap with the edges you already taped, and keep that bottom section tape-free.

Step 5: Stuff and Seal

Open up the bottom of your squishy and gently push stuffing inside. Add as much as you want, but don't overfill - you want it to stay soft and squishy!

With the front facing you, tuck all the stuffing inside and apply a final piece of tape across the bottom opening, making sure it overlaps the sides.

Trim any excess tape and cut small slits at any curved areas.

Fold the tape over to the back to completely seal your squishy.

Your Tu B'Shvat fruit squishy is ready to enjoy!
